WELCOME TO ST MELYD'S
SERVICE NEWS

Our Sunday morning services now begin at the slightly earlier time of 11.00am.  Tea and coffee will be available most weeks after the service.  From September 2023, the type of service has changed around with the Holy Eucharist being held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays and Morning Prayer on the 1st and 3rd Sundays.  This also means a change for the 6pm services with the Holy Eucharist being held on the 1st Sunday of each month (rather than the 4th) and Evensong on the other Sundays.  On the 5th Sunday of a month (except this March) there is a joint Mission Area service, held in different churches, in the morning and no other services.  We continue to hold a service of the Holy Eucharist at 11am on  Wednesdays.

Easter Services

There will be an additional service at 6pm on Maundy Thursday, the 28th of March.  This will be Holy Communion and will include stripping the altar.

The 11am service on Easter Day will begin with a Family Celebration, followed by a short Easter Communion at 11.30am.

There will be a Pebble Dash from noon until 2pm when young people can find a painted pebble and swap it for a chocolate egg.  Check out Prestatyn Church in Wales Facebook for more details.

Cytun (Prestatyn and Meliden Churches Together) are also holding 2 services over the Easter weekend.   An Open Air Witness at noon on Good Friday in the precinct opposite the Scala and a Dawn Service at 6.15am on Easter Day at Gwaenysgor View Point.

ABOUT OUR CHURCH

There has been a Parish Church in Meliden for centuries. Here people have come to worship God and to learn to follow the Christian way.

The Church is also the centre of the community where people come for baptisms, weddings and funerals. On these occasions we speak to God who loves us, judges us, forgives us, strengthens us and finally welcomes us home. The Church provides worship which has warmth and friendliness and also that formality and dignity which speak of truths that do not change in a changing world.

We invite you to join us.
